A wedding is first and foremost a celebration of love, but let’s be honest—wedding gifts are an inseparable part of it. However, times have changed. While newlyweds used to be just starting out and received dinner sets, irons, and linens, today couples often live together long before the wedding and their homes are already fully furnished.
So, how do you handle the question of gifts elegantly? How can you tactfully ask for money, and conversely, what should you choose as a guest to really hit the mark?

It is the most common dilemma in wedding planning. You would prefer a contribution towards your honeymoon or home renovations, but you don’t want your invitation to look like an invoice.
Don’t worry, cash gifts are completely standard these days. It is all about how you phrase it:
1. A Request in Rhyme: A classic that never offends. A short poem on a small card enclosed with the invitation lightens the mood.
Tip: “To save you looking, shopping, and buying, / there is no need to be trying. / We have no list of pots and pans, / just hopes and dreams and honeymoon plans. / So if a gift is on your mind, / a monetary contribution would be kind.”
2. Wedding Website: If you have a wedding website, it is the perfect place for a “Gifts” or “Registry” section. Here, you can directly but politely explain that you are saving for a specific dream (a house, a trip around the world) and that financial support would mean the most to you.
3. Wedding Registry: If you are uncomfortable asking for cash, create an online wedding registry. Guests can “reserve” specific items that you truly want. This way, you avoid ending up with three coffee makers.
Are you attending as a guest and don’t want to give “just an envelope”? Do you want to give something more personal? Here are some wedding gift tips you can’t go wrong with:

With dozens of guests comes a pile of boxes and envelopes. Security is often a concern for newlyweds; no one wants to spend the reception guarding a box of cards.
This is where the huge advantage of a wedding at Resort Na Pasece comes in. Since you rent the entire grounds exclusively for yourselves, you don’t have to worry about uninvited guests.
Wedding gifts are a beautiful tradition, but don’t forget that the greatest gift is your presence and the time spent together. Whatever you give, do it from the heart.
